*And so it has spiraled down to this. The back and forth between former besties 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather Jr. has taken a turn toward public humiliation after the rapper offered to donate $750,000 to the boxer’s favorite charity if he can read one full page of a Harry Potter book out loud.

Well, The Breakfast Club on New York’s Power 105 piled on Friday morning as hosts Charlamagne, DJ Envy, and Angela Yee gleefully dug into the radio station’s archives to unearth unedited audio of Mayweather reading a promotional “drop.”

Despite reservations about running the clip, Charlamagne defended the station’s decision.

“I got nothing but respect for Floyd Mayweather. He’s the greatest defensive fighter of all time, but I got a show to do,” he said. “I gotta sell tickets too, baby. Just like he likes to put on a show, I like to put on a show to. This is for our listeners’ benefit.”

50 followed up his original Instagram challenge to Mayweather with this one, stating that Jimmy Kimmel has offered to have the boxer read Harry Potter on his show. 50 then suggested that Potter may be too difficult, and he would also accept Floyd reading Cat in the Hat.
