struggle rapper shooting

*An argument over who was the frontman of a rap group turned violent as a struggle rapper shot and pistol-whipped his fellow group mate.

Theboombox.com reports the altercation took place inside a bodega over the weekend during the filming of a rap video in the Bronx. It was there the two rappers began arguing. A video of the incident posted by Gawker shows one of the group members calmly standing over his 37-year-old partner-in-rhyme pointing the gun at him and shooting him several times. The man then pistol-whipped the injured rapper with the gun after firing the weapon.

Equally sad was the sight of bystanders in the store who chose not to help the wounded would-be entertainer. The injured rapper was shot in the head, legs and chest as bystanders stepped over him as they were leaving the store. According to theboombox, one guy even looked at his phone as he walked out away from the scene.

Chatting with the New York Daily News, Bodega owner, Ali Abdul suspected that alcohol could have been at the center of the argument between the rappers.

“They were fighting over who’s the star, who’s better,” he told the Daily News. “They were drunk. They spit at each other, then one guy pulled out a gun and shot the other guy five times.”

With the victim expected to survive and the shooter still at large, the NYPD is currently trying to find answers by asking witnesses to come forward and report what they know.
