*Ray Rice continues to put the legal hand up against the NFL.
Media sources report that Rice has filed a grievance against the Baltimore Ravens to challenge the team’s decision to terminate his contract on Sept. 8.
Rice argues that the Collective Bargaining Agreement permits one punishment for infraction. In July, the NFL suspended Rice two games after a video surfaced of him assaulting his then-fiancée in the head in an Atlantic City elevator. immediately after the video came to light, the Ravens cut Rice, who was also suspended indefinitely by the NFL.
If he is successful with the grievances, Rice stands to collect a sizeable payday with him being eligible to receive $3.52 million from the Ravens. The amount is what he would have earned if he were reinstated as of Week Three of the regular season.
According to reports, Rice’s grievance against the NFL is set for Nov. 5 and 6. At this time, it is not known when his grievance against the Ravens will be resolved.
