*Star Jones, one of the original co-hosts of “The View” until her farewell in 2006, hopes its new cast can move away from the bickering that has been such a big part of the show’s past.
“Smart women can disagree without being disagreeable, and I hope they don’t fall into that trap,” Jones said. “Disagreeable is not watchable. It’s not likable.”
After some ratings slippage during recent seasons, Jones is optimistic that the new panel featuring Rosie Perez, Nicole Wallace and the return of former co-host Rosie O’Donnell alongside veteran Whoopi Goldberg will right the ship.
“I think they can do this show and have that show grow in a way where there is a spirited, wonderful debate, but [also] camaraderie,” she said. “That’s the thing that I missed about ‘The View,’ is the camaraderie we had initially.”
Jones discussed the series’ latest revamp during a visit to HuffPost Live on Monday, when she chatted about her new role as the president of the Professional Diversity Network.
