*ABC now has an answer for “The Real.”
Variety is reporting that ABC’s O&O group (it’s eight owned-and-operated stations) has cleared the Tyra Banks-hosted and executive-produced syndicated talk show “The F-A-B” for a fall 2015 launch.
The daytime show has Banks anchoring a roundtable of lifestyle experts: former model turned foodie Chrissy Teigen, fashion guru Joe Zee, interior designer Lauren Makk, and do-it-yourself YouTube personality Leah Ashley.
The deal gives the Disney-distributed property a home in eight major markets, including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. It equates to 23% of U.S. TV households.
“The F-A-B” (which stands for “Fun and Beautiful”) comes in the wake of Warner Bros. seeing success with its newly launched “The Real,” which targets young urban multicultural women with a diverse panel of five hosts anchored by comedian Loni Love.
“Tyra and her panel of lifestyle experts share a chemistry that is energetic and extremely entertaining,” said Rebecca Campbell, President of ABC Owned Station Group.
Banks previously hosted “The Tyra Banks Show” for Warner Bros. for five seasons. She is also the longtime host and exec producer of “America’s Next Top Model,” a staple of UPN and the CW since 2003.
