Tyga tweets blasting his record label caught Birdman off guard. “I didn’t see that coming. And I still I haven’t got to the bottom of none of that,” he said.
Tyga told Vibe he would like to go independent as an artist and didn’t get along with his labelmates.
“I don’t like Drake as a person. He’s just fake to me,” he said.
Although Tyga doesn’t like Drake, Birdman does — sticking up for the “Take Care” rapper. He said, “Drake is Drake. There’s really no comparison.”
He added, “he’s in a lane all by himself when it comes to making music. You can’t compare nobody to what he do ’cause nobody does what he does.”
Birdman wanted to make himself clear on the comparison of Tyga to Drake. There really isn’t one. Drake’s numbers don’t lie. He’s winning.
“Tyga know where he stands in this game compared to Drake. That ain’t no secret. Numbers don’t lie,” he said. “He might be in his feelings, and I got all the love and respect for Tyga. That’s been like my little bro.”
Birdman said it is up to Tyga if he is in or if he is out of the family. “My intake is, I’m family orientated….either you’re in or you’re out. If you’re out, you’re an outcast to me,” Birdman said.
He added, “if you’re in, we family. To me, it ain’t no on or off switch. Either you with us or you ain’t. You gotta choose your side, but I got nothing but respect for Tyga.”
Regardless of his feelings towards the record label and releasing music independently, Birdman confirmed Tyga is still signed to Young Money Records.
