*Amber Vinson, the Dallas nurse who contracted Ebola after treating Thomas Eric Duncan and the third person to be diagnosed with Ebola in the U.S., defended her headline-making airline flight in a recent interview.

“I’m a nurse,” Vinson, 29, told CNN’s Don Lemon. “I care. I would not take Ebola to my family and my best girlfriends. I would not endanger families across the nation … I had no symptoms.”

Vinson was diagnosed with Ebola shortly after she flew on a commercial plane. On Oct. 10, she took a quick trip to Cleveland to visit family and plan her wedding. She returned to Dallas on Oct. 13 and was hospitalized after reporting a fever the following day. Many questioned her decision to fly, even though she has said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention gave her the green light to do so.

Vinson was released from Emory University Hospital in Atlanta on Oct. 28, after recovering from the illness.

“All I do is care,” she added. “All I want to do is help.”
