*Rapper Killer Mike has been vocal about the Michael Brown shooting ever since the unarmed teen was gunned down on Aug. 9 in Ferguson Miss.
Monday night, after a grand jury announced that they were not going indict police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting, Killer Mike’s rap duo Run the Jewels took the stage in St. Louis, reports Billboard.
Before the show, Mike gave a potent speech with his voice choking with emotion.
“All thoughts and prayers to the people who are out there peacefully protesting,” he said as well as “thoughts and prayers for the people who could not hold their anger in, because riots are only the language of the unheard.”
“Tonight, I got kicked on my ass when I listened to that prosecutor,” Mike continued. “I knew it was coming. I knew it when f—ing Eric Holder decided to resign, I knew it wasn’t gonna be good, but I gotta tell ’em, you motherf—ers got me today. You kicked me on my ass today, because I have a 20-year-old son, and I have a 12-year-old son, and I’m so afraid for them.”
He ended on a note of hope. “With that said, you motherf—ers will not own tomorrow. We will not live in your fear, we will not accept your cages.”
