*Queen Latifah will add yet another hosting gig to her resume this year.
The talk show maven, fresh from her master of ceremonies gig at the Hollywood Film Awards, has been tapped to host the annual Nobel Peace Prize concert on Dec. 11 in Oslo, Norway.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of this year’s concert and to help celebrate such amazing individuals who have each worked so hard on behalf of children’s rights to education,” says Latifah.
The host of The Queen Latifah Show also performed “America the Beautiful” at the Super Bowl earlier this year and presided over 33 marriages while Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Mary Lambert performed “Same Love” at the Grammy Awards. Her last album was 2009’s “Persona.”
The 2014 Nobel Prize Concert will honor Kailash Satyarthi and Malala Yousafzai, chosen by the Norwegian Nobel Committee for “their struggle against the oppression of children and young people, and for the right of all children to education.”
In its 21st year, the Nobel Peace Prize Concert is an annual musical celebration honoring each year’s Nobel laureates, broadcasted in up to 100 countries.
Last year’s concert featured Mary J. Blige and James Blunt. In past years, the concert has hosted Paul McCartney, Rihanna, Sting, Santana, Alicia Keys, Willie Nelson, Bon Jovi and many others.
