*Spike Lee wants America to know we are not in a post-racial society. He dismissed the idea when interviewed by Fusion TV.

Lee said just because America has a black president, that doesn’t mean it’s a post-racial America, and now hundreds of years of oppression and racism just disappears.

But this so-called post-racial America notion isn’t the only thing that bothers Lee about the modern world or what he finds wrong with it.

He started off the discussion by asking the audience to raise their hands if they watch “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” He then said the reality show “is bringing about the destruction of the modern world.”

As for race and racism in America, he used the shooting of Mike Brown and chokehold death of Eric Gardner at the hands of white police officers as examples of a non-post-racial America.

“I don’t care who you are; if you’re African-American in this country, you know what the deal is. The deal is that your black,” he said. “The people that get in trouble and the people that forget they’re black.”

Lee added: “you can’t just think that I’m so successful that I’ve reached another realm. That I’m in the so-called [post-racial America]… that is bullshit because now we have a black president, race no longer matters.”

He continued with, “there are times even today that it’s hard for me to catch a cab sometimes.”
