The Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network (WEEN) will host the Fourth Annual WEEN Awards on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, recognizing individuals with a proven commitment to the empowerment of women worldwide.
An evening of glamour, philanthropy, and stars, the Fourth Annual WEEN Awards will take place Wednesday November 19th, 2014, at Helen Mills, located at 137 West 26th Street at 6pm.
The Fourth Annual WEEN Awards will highlight the outstanding achievements of women in various areas of business and entertainment. The honorees this year include Hip-Hop legend, MCLyte; radio personality, Angela Yee; financial literacy expert, Lynn Richardson; fitness motivator, Jeanette Jenkins; entrepreneur and Founder of Carol’s Daughter, Lisa Price, and singer Sevyn Streeter. Past honorees include: Vivica A. Fox, Angie Martinez, Nia Long, and Soledad O’Brien.
Proceeds from the WEEN Awards will fund the organization’s flagship program, The WEEN Academy; a six-week entertainment industry boot camp for young women ages 18-22. “I’m thrilled to recognize the outstanding achievements of our deserving honorees this year,” exclaimed WEEN Co-Founder and CEO, Valeisha Butterfield Jones. “The WEEN Academy produces the entertainment industry and the world’s brightest young stars and I’m so excited to raise critical funds to keep this vital program alive.”
