*Hundreds turned out to pay tribute to Los Angeles’ unsung activists at the 2014 (31st annual) “Testimonial to Leadership” banquet held at the USC Radisson.

The dinner in previous years has paid tribute to figures ranging from the late Betty Shabazz and Percy Sutton to Congresswomen Karen Bass and Maxine Waters.

This year, honorees featured a collection of Los Angeles Activists who don’t garner the media attention that other activists such as Rev Al Sharpton or Rev Jesse Jackson, but whose work is invaluable in the Los Angeles community.
