*Leveraging the popularity of its original content with African American female viewers, TV One has picked up its series “Hollywood Divas” for a second season. The announcement was made during the “Hollywood Divas” season one reunion special.
“The strong social media and viewer response to ‘Hollywood Divas’ made renewing this insider’s look at Black Hollywood a no-brainer,” said D’Angela Proctor, SVP of Programming and Production for TV One. “The evolution that took place in the lives of these actresses over the course of the season has been remarkable, but there is so much more of their story left to share. We look forward highlighting what progress and new projects they have on the horizon when the series returns next year.”
The first season of “Hollywood Divas” followed Golden Brooks, Countess Vaughn, Lisa Wu, Paula Jai Parker and Elise Neal as they came together to write, shoot and star in their own short film, “The White Sistas.” “Hollywood Divas” is currently a Top 5 Wednesday Primetime Cable Original Series Among Black Adults. Through the season finale, episode premieres collectively reached 2 Million viewers 2+. “Divas” was also the most social premiere to date on TV One.
“Hollywood Divas” is produced by Kingdom Reign Entertainment and TTucker Productions for TV One, with Carlos King and Todd Tucker serving as Executive Producers. Lamar Chase is Producer for TV One and Robyn Greene Arrington is Executive In Charge of Production. D’Angela Proctor is Head of Programming for the Network.
