*Looks like the happy couple wasn’t as happy as we thought.
Jordin Sparks went in on her ex Jason Derulo with the release of a new song slamming him. According to Sparks, what you hear on the track, a remix to Drake’s “How Bout Now,” was not exactly how it was planned. So much so that she became nervous about what her fans would think.
“I knew it was going to get crazy,” the American Idol winner told E! Online’s Mark Malkin on Thursday. “I was nervous to put it out there because no one had ever heard me like this before.”
Fans will definitely get a taste of Sparks’ new attitude as she takes Derulo to task for letting fame go to his head.
“Feeling like I have to get all of this off my chest,” she sings. “I know you are sitting there thinking ‘What is she going to do next?’/ Remember I deleted all my other guys’ numbers out my phone for ya?/ Remember when you broke your neck and I had to wash your back for ya?/ You probably don’t remember half of the s–t that I did for ya.”
“You really f–ked with me way back when, but how about now?/ ‘Cause I’m up right now and you suck right now,” Sparks adds on the song, which will be included on her forthcoming release, “Right Here, Right Now.
All in all, the song as well as the album proved to be an exercise in Sparks expressing what she felt at the moment.
“Every day was different and every day something new came out [during writing and recording sessions], and that day I was having one of those days where I was like, ‘I’m just going to do it and I want my fans to hear this side of me. They need to hear it.’…My fans wanted to hear something but at the same time it wasn’t really planned and I just went into the studio and whatever came out, came out,” she said.
In case you’re wondering, Sparks hasn’t heard from Derulo since the release of the track about two weeks ago. Nevertheless, it doesn’t seem to be a concern as she’s in a new space right now.
“I’m actually probably in the best place I’ve been in, like, years. I feel like I am in the best place mentally, spiritually, physically, emotionally…Everything just feels really good,” Sparks said while mentioning that a new guy is not currently on her radar.
“I’m dating myself for sure,” Sparks laughingly told Malkin. “I’m really not in any space to be in a relationship with anybody. I have too much stuff to do. I haven’t had time for distractions like that right now.
Jordin Sparks’ album “Right Here, Right Now” is set to arrive in early 2015.
