*Nicki Minaj speaks candidly in the new issue of Rolling Stone about her decision to have an abortion as a teenager, saying it has “haunted me all my life.”
The rapper was a student at LaGuardia high school, a prestigious performing arts school, when she became pregnant by an older man, she told the magazine in a cover story.
“I thought I was going to die,” Minaj said. ”I was a teenager. It was the hardest thing I’d ever gone through.”
Despite her regret now, Minaj maintains that she made the right choice.
“It’d be contradictory if I said I wasn’t pro-choice. I wasn’t ready. I didn’t have anything to offer a child,” Minaj said.
Minaj has rapped about her abortion before on a mix tape track titled “Autobiography.”
The 32-year-old rapper shared the story with the magazine ahead of the release of her latest album, “The Pinkprint.”
