*Andre Royo has joined Showtime’s comedy pilot “Happyish” as a recurring character, reports Deadline.com.
“Happyish” is described as a scathing examination of our pursuit of happiness, a pursuit that might just be the very thing causing our unhappiness in the first place.
It centers on Thom Payne (Steve Coogan), a 44-year-old man whose world is thrown into disarray when his 25-year-old “wunderkind” boss arrives. Kathryn Hahn and Bradley Whitford co-star.
Also tapped for recurring roles Carrie Preston (“The Good Wife”) and Molly Price (“Third Watch”)
Preston – who recently reprised her Emmy-winning guest starring role as Elsbeth Tascioni on The Good Wife and guest starred on HBO’s comedy series, “Getting On” – will play Debbie Dubonte, a Senior Account Director at MGT who could “be the mother” of her two new bosses, and must, like Thom Payne, find a way to reinvent herself or lose her job.
Price and Royo will play husband and wife Barry and Bella. Barry is a former corporate lawyer who followed his heart to the Family Court, only to find it even more depressing than Corporate Law was. Bella is a divorced mother still struggling to find the best place for herself and her child.
