Amber Rose: Family’s No-Show at Wedding Because Wiz Khalifa is Black

amber-rose *Amber Rose may have a loving attitude towards black men, but that doesn’t mean her family shares the same feeling.

If you missed it, Monday night, during an interview for “Light Girls,” the follow-up to OWN’s documentary “Dark Girls,” Rose opened up about how colorism and racism within her family and the black community affected her.

“With my family, they feel like they’re more superior, or better than an African American, because we’re Creole and we have culture,” said Rose, who is half-Cape Verdean and half-Italian, about her family’s view of blacks and her relationships with high profile black men such as her estranged husband, Wiz Khalifa.

Recalling the day she married the “Black and Yellow” rap star, Rose revealed that her family was a no-show at the 2013 wedding while voicing her thoughts on some of her relatives.

“I’m angry that my family is like that and they wanna ‘pass’ so bad that they raised my mom and my uncles and my aunts to not fully know their culture.”
