*Tony Award-winning actress Anika Noni Rose has optioned TV/Film rights to Daniel José Older’s urban fantasy book series Bone Street Rumba.

The first installment, Half-Resurrected Blues, was published on January 6 by Penguin’s Roc Books imprint and centers on character Carlos Delacruz, an agent in the “New York Council Of The Dead.” He’s a so-called in-betweener, living in a kind of purgatory after his own death, and he encounters others in a similar demi-monde.

The second installment, Midnight Taxi Tango, is slated for release next January.
