From the looks of a photo shoot they did for the February, 2015 issue of GQ magazine, the couple had all eyes on themselves. Away from the camera, Legend and Teigen are visible and naturally part of their residence on the Bowery in New York as they are known to frequent restaurants there as well as walk the streets and shop at local bodegas.
The couple more than showed their New York stripes when they provided food in December for those protesting the verdict in the Eric Garner case.
“That was Chrissy’s idea,” Legend proudly told GQ. “Originally we were thinking about buying out a restaurant, but we realized we should bring the food to them.”
Despite not having any food-truck connections, Teigen made it a point to not only hustle, but also book a number of vehicles herself off a rental site in addition to contacting the vendors to arrange the surprise for protesters.
“You’re making that phone call in the morning, hoping they agree to it, because obviously it’s kind of a hot-button topic—you don’t know who’s going to want to be involved,” the supermodel says. “But everybody was so down. And so for the cause.”
