Oops! Golden Globes Website Declares ‘Selma’ a Winner Before Tonight’s Telecast

*OK, there’s no need to watch the Golden Globe Awards tonight ’cause we already know that “Selma” is gonna win Best Motion Picture, Drama, right?

Well, not exactly, but the reason we’re even going there at this point is because earlier, the Globes’ website posted that info as well as naming “Into The Woods” Best Motion Picture, Musical Or Comedy.

So can this be racked up as a boo-boo on the part of the website? Yep, kinda. But basically it was just a glitch, say the folks at the Golden Globes.

“While testing the official website of the Golden Globe Awards for Sunday’s ceremony, Bluefin inadvertently took the test live,” a spokesperson for the tech company told Deadline. “We randomly selected two film titles with no knowledge of the category winners. We are solely responsible for the error.”

Also, due to regulations from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the organization behind the Globes, the folks at the accounting company of Ernst & Young are the only ones with access to the winner’s list before the show, which is being telecast on NBC tonight at 8pm Eastern / 5pm Pacific.

So even though “Selma” and “Into the Woods” may very well win, we won’t know for sure until tonight for sure.
