*“People do what you do,” said Pastor and Gospel music mogul Ben Tankard about the reasons he did a reality show, “Thicker Than Water: The Tankards,” which airs on the Bravo network on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT. “If I can find a way to include the audience…people will feel like they are a part of it.”

The reality show follows the music mogul and Pastor in his day to day life with his wife, also a Pastor, Jewell and their children Brooklyn, Britney, Benji, and Cyrene. It premiered its second season January 4, 2015 as Ben’s oldest son Marcus returns home with his wife.

“Our reality show is authentic,” said Jewell Tankard when asked if they feel pressure to be more or less than they really are. “Its authentic to who we are as a family. We get transparent. It helps with the healing.”

The Tankards live in a mansion in Tennessee that they call the “Tankard Palace”. The new season has Ben also celebrating his 50th birthday, and 25 years in the music business. The kids believe Jewell is going through a midlife crisis.

“We are volunteering Pastors in a church we kind of started at home,” Ben explained. “As Pastors we get up and talk about…what happens during the week. Tell the story and put scripture to it.”

Ben Tankard, a Jazz pianist and producer, has released 18 solo Gospel/Jazz albums and have garnered 12 Stellar Award wins,  11 Dove Award nominations (3 received from last album “Full Tank”), and three Grammy Award nominations. He has produced and collaborated with Take 6, Kelly Price, Fred Hammond, John P. Kee, and Shirley Murdock. In February, 2015 he will release another album “Full Tank 2.0.”

The six-time platinum musician’s projects are released through his own record label Ben’ Jamin/Verity/Sony Music. His “Wow Gospel 2006 Collaborations” album release features Marvin Sapp, Shirley Murdock, and Kirk Franklin. He also did the arrangements for Lionel Richie’s “Jesus Is Love.”

Ben is a former professional basketball player, and along with his wife Jewell they are Pastors at Destiny Center Church. Log onto www.BenTankard.org, or www.DestinyDome.com for more information about the Tankards.

*Into its third season the Lifetime Network’s reality docu-soap “Preacher’s Daughters” premiers January 23, 2015 at 10 p.m. The one hour reality show follows nine preacher’s daughters and their families as the girls live alone in a house without parent supervision. One of the preacher’s daughters is Kristina Flowers (18 years-old) from Detroit, Michigan. She is the youngest child of Reverend Kenneth James Flowers of the Greater New Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church.

“My whole family names begin with a K,” Kristiana explained when I complimented her and asked about the unusual spelling of her name. “My grandmother is Ann so Kristiana.” When asked about her reality show experience so far she said, “It was fun. Fun is the #1 word. I had so much fun. I made so many connections.”

In Lifetime’s “Preacher’s Daughters” third season Kristiana has left the pressure to be the perfect preacher’s daughter living independently with eight others just like her. Through everything on the show she strives to keep God in her heart.

“I think my experiences confirmed what I thought and saw in myself. I always thought I was strong…I proved myself,” Flowers said proudly about the first season on the show. “It was my first time away…a week was the most time. My mother was so nervous. My dad was nervous but not as nervous as my mom. She was shaking in her boots.”

The third season has Kristiana in college.

“I went straight to college. So they weren’t so nervous,” she said about leaving home in the third season. “(College) It’s been good. I go to Kent State.”

Kristiana says she is majoring in fashion, “I always loved fashion…so I took up Fashion Merchandising. I’ve learned a lot about the business side.”

In the preacher’s daughters’ house living along side Kristiana is Megan Cassidy (17) from South Carolina; Tyche Crockett (22) from New Orleans; Nikki Erimetz (19) from South Carolina; Jayde Gomez (20) from Lakeland, Florida; Kori Haynes (22) from Mississippi; Cierra Vaughn (22) from Chicago; Lolly White (24) from Los Angeles, and Kayla Wilde (20) from Newport Beach, California.
