50 Cent on ‘Empire’: ‘It’s like ‘Glee’ with a Little Hip-Hop Music in It’ (Watch)

50 Cent*50 Cent slightly has changed his mind about “Empire” after calling out the series marketing similarities to his hit show, “Power,” according to MTV.

“I’ve watched it. It’s like ‘Glee’ with a little hip hop music in it,” he said. “I feel like the storyline is moving extremely fast… I didn’t show my character, Kanan, until episode 4 on ‘Power,’ because I was in jail for a long period of time.”

He added, “(Taraji P. Henson) came home on the first episode after 17 years. It was like, ‘damn, what happened to the rest of the story? I don’t know what’s going on.’ It started moving real fast.”

Although he didn’t like the fast pace of the show, he said his comments about the show being a copycat was just 50 having fun.

“I think it’s good, and I’m happy the show’s successful at the present moment, because I got a lot of friends working on that project,” he said.

Timbaland is the music director of the show,” he added. “Terrence Howard was in my first film with me, co-starred in ‘Get Rich Or Die Tryin.’ Taraji actually read for ‘Get Rich Or Die Tryin.’”

“And so, I met her during that time period where we were doing the casting. And then she kind of got mad at me for what I was saying. But they did copy the art. They put ‘power’ in the middle of the tagline with ‘Empire – ‘Music, Money, Power.’ … I just joked about it.”
