He tweeted, “good people of the Canadian government wouldn’t allow me entry. I’ll be back this summer and will hopefully see all my Canadian fans!”
His spokeswoman, Nicole Perna, confirmed Canadian immigration officials wouldn’t allow him to pass the borders. Live Nation refunded tickets to fans.
This isn’t the first time Brown was denied entry into another country. The United Kingdom refused Brown’s visa due to his criminal record back in 2010 shortly after assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna. This forced him to miss shows.
Canada Border Services hasn’t responded yet to confirm any similar reasons for denial. He violated his probation in 2013 after an altercation in Washington D.C. He served three months in jail last year.
