It’s been six months since they tied the knot, and marriage license manager Roberto Reboso said this could be an issue for the couple if they ever needed to prove they are legally married.
“We know they’re married from what they said on TV,” Reboso said. “And they obtained a marriage license before the ceremony.
He added, “but they still haven’t returned the licensed signed by the person who officiated the ceremony. So their marriage has not been recorded by the state.”
They picked up a marriage license from Miami-Dade County office on Aug. 26, 2014. But they never signed and returned it to the office.
“It happens that some people don’t send it back,” Reboso said. “But in case of legal problems, or if one of members of a couple were to die, the other would not be able to claim his or her property.”
