*Throughout US history, the black man has been stereotyped as a threat.

One of the most enduring of all racist stereotypes is the perception that black men are, by nature, prone to violence and criminality. While we have pushed back against this false and wicked perception of us, there is another definition of “dangerous” or “threatening” that black men of conscience embrace with pride.

For the black men who have been truly threatening over our nation’s 200-plus year history have not been street criminals.  Rather, they have been, and continue to be, the brothers who challenge the injustices of longstanding racist institutions. This is why the infamous FBI director J. Edgar Hoover blasted the nonviolent freedom fighter Martin Luther King, Jr. as the “most dangerous…Negro leader in the country.”

K-Rahn Vallatine, a powerful youth motivational speaker and author of Live Above The Hype Hip Hop Life Skills Curriculum,” breaks down the truth about the threatening and non-threatening black man in a powerful new video commentary.
