adrian peterson, aj,*Former NFL Chicago running back, Adrian Peterson wrote a heart-wrenching goodbye to his 7-year-old son, A.J., who he lost to cancer on Facebook.

“#Ajsoars is in Heaven, where he belongs…#ajsoars #P3 #MyFirstSuperHero,” said Peterson about son who had been battling cancer since last June.

Peterson and wife, Angela were told back then A.J. had an inoperable brainstem tumor, or Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). He was given a five to nine percent survival rate prognosis, according to News One.

Peterson, who is not the same Adrian Peterson as the Minnesota Vikings running back, started a GoFundMe page to raise money for A.J.’s medical bills.

A.J.’s parents used Facebook to keep the world posted on his condition. But recently, they took to the social network to announce details about his homecoming services.

“Angela and Adrian are extremely appreciative for all of your thoughts and prayers. The Homegoing Celebration for A.J. will be held Saturday at 3pm at: Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1365 Kinlaw Rd., Kingsland, GA 31548.”

A.J. had his dreams come true before passing away. He was sworn in as an honorary Round Lake Police officer thanks to the Make a Wish Foundation.
