*Universal Pictures has won a competitive bidding war for “Mother,” an action comedy pitch that will be developed as a star vehicle for Halle Berry, with the actress and Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas also producing through their 606 Films Production banner, reports Deadline.com.
“Man on a Ledge” scribe Pablo Fenjves is attached to write the screenplay, but no word yet on the film’s plot.
“Mother” is the latest project since Berry and Goldsmith-Thomas teamed to launch 606 Films. They just finished production on “Kidnap,” a thriller that also stars Berry. In theaters Oct. 9, the film has Berry as a mom who will stop at nothing to rescue her kidnapped son.
606 Films is currently in production on the second season of Berry’s TV vehicle “Extant.”
