*Multiple sexual assault and drugging allegations against Bill Cosby is not preventing Netflix from adding “A Different World” to its list of programs.
The on-demand internet media company announced Tuesday (Feb. 24) that the classic spin-off of “The Cosby Show” is among its list of new releases for March 2015, theGrio.com reports. Created by Cosby, “A Different World” premiered in 1987 on NBC and aired for six seasons.
Netflix’s acquisition of the sitcom comes after it postponed plans to launch “Bill Cosby 77,” a stand-up comedy special featuring the funnyman, in November 2014. The special was originally scheduled to premiere the day after Thanksgiving. The cancellation came amid more than a dozen rape allegations against Cosby.
The complete series of “A Different World” will be available on Netflix starting March 17.
