*We bet Miss Zahlavova-Strycova won’t try that again.
In other words, know your role when dealing with Venus Williams on the tennis court.
Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova found this out firsthand after losing to Williams in the Qatar Open. News.com.au reports that Williams pulled away to a 5-3 lead to set up an early win in the third set. To her credit, Zahlavova-Strycova put up a good fight as she won three straight games to go up 6-5
In the end, Williams mounted one last effort to win three points in a row before sneaking out a tiebreak to beat her Czech Republic opponent , 7-5 3-6 7-6 (5) and advance to the quarterfinals.
Reeling from the sting of defeat, Zahlavova-Strycova tried to get at Williams with an attempted stare down at the ritual exchange of handshakes at the net. Needless, to say, Williams was unfazed by the tactic.
The following is the exchange between the player’s, according to News.com.au.
Venus: Was that look for something?
Barbora: Well done?
Venus: OK, good.
