*Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has join Warner Bros.’ “Suicide Squad,” a source close to the project told Variety. Will Smith, Viola Davis, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney and Joel Kinnaman are set to star in the film under director David Ayer.

Based on the DC comicbook, the story centers on the team of super villains who are given a chance at redemption by the government. The catch: their mission will probably kill them all.

Word has it he will play Killer Croc in the pic. According to the “Suicide Squad” wiki, Killer Croc’s alter ego is Waylon Jones, a former crocodile wrestler turned into a criminal deformed by a birth defect. He has low intelligence but great strength, as well as crocodilian abilities, such as a keen sense of smell and the ability to hold his breath underwater for long periods of time. He is also a nemesis of Batman.

Davis will play Amanda Waller, while Smith will take on the role of Deadshot.

Charles Roven and Richard Suckle are producing. Cameras will begin rolling in April for an Aug. 5, 2016 release.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje was most recently seen in Sony’s “Annie” and just wrapped production on “Trumbo” starring Bryan Cranston.
