*Beyonce wasn’t cast in “The Big Short” despite what the author, Michael Lewis, claimed in an interview with “CBS This Morning,” according to Gossip Cop.
Lewis announced filming started on Monday with the movie version starring Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, and Christian Bale, claiming he believes Beyonce was added to the all-star list as well.
He was wrong, according to a rep from Paramount Pictures. Gossip Cop said it was skeptical of the news Beyonce was cast since the book has very few female characters.
Like the book, the movie will be an ensemble piece about a number of people on Wall Street who foresaw the housing collapse. They accurately betted against mortgage bonds being paid up in full and on time.
This led to the stock market’s 2008 crash. Several banks were left with billions in the debt, but these businesspeople ended up making a fortune.
