*Kaitlin Doubleday, who plays Andre’s wife Rhonda Lyon on Fox’s “Empire,” was speaking to Us Weekly about her other life as an avid animal lover and activist when she revealed a bizarre story about her dog.

“My dog was stolen and sold to a drug dealer, but I hired a private investigator and got him back,” she said.

Apart from her busy filming schedule, she manages to find time to give back. “I volunteer every week at NKLA (No Kill Los Angeles Animal Shelter),” she added before sharing that she fosters kittens.

“My dream is to win an Academy Award and open an animal shelter in the same day,” Doubleday, 30, told Us Weekly.

The actress, who landed her first job opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in “Catch Me If You Can,” is finding it difficult, however, to transfer her love of animals to her eating habits.

“I pray every night for the self-control to be vegan (but I love sushi and cheese almost as much as I love wine which is A LOT),” she quipped.
