It Ain’t Over – Calendar Says it’s Spring, but Winter Still Hanging Around Northeast

weather map

*(Via MSN News) – The first full day of spring gave residents across the Northeast a taste of the new season, although the milder weather is not here to stay.

A cold front is forecast to sweep across the Northeast by Sunday, ushering chilly Canadian air across the region that will linger for the start of the new week.

Temperatures on Sunday are not expected to plummet as low as they did during the bitter blasts of February, but afternoon highs are still forecast to run well below normal on Sunday and Monday.

Temperatures will be held more than 20 degrees below normal across upstate New York and northern New England. The departure from normal will be on the order of 10 to 20 degrees elsewhere in the Northeast.

This translates to afternoon highs generally in the middle 30s to middle 40s across the mid-Atlantic and around or below freezing across much of New England.
