*“Key & Peele’s” hit “Substitute Teacher” sketch is coming to movie theaters courtesy of Paramount, which just bought a pitch that will star the comedy duo, reports Deadline.com.
Paramount is keeping it in the family, so to speak. The studio, as well as “Key & Peele’s” network Comedy Central are under the same Viacom umbrella.
“Key & Peele” co-producers Rich Talarico and Alex Rubens will write the script, which will feature Keegan-Michael Key’s irascible educator Mr. Garvey competing with a rival inner-city teacher played by Jordan Peele for the love and respect of the student body.
The “Substitute Teacher” sketches have more than 72 million collective views on YouTube.
The series returns for its fifth season in July, after the duo wrap New Line’s comedy “Keanu,” which finds the guys posing as drug dealers in order to rescue a missing cat.
