*Lakeith Lee Stanfield, who plays Snoop Dogg in “Straight Outta Compton,” has joined the cast of “Snowden,” Oliver Stone’s biopic about the notorious NSA leaker.
Stanfield will play a National Security Administration co-worker and close friend to Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Edward Snowden.
Shailene Woodley and Scott Eastwood also star in the Stone-helmed movie alongside Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Tom Wilkinson, Rhys Ifans, Nicolas Cage, Joely Richardson and Timothy Olyphant.
Open Road is set to open the pic on December 25.
Beside’s the upcoming N.W.A. biopic, Stanfield’s recent big-screen credits include Best Picture Oscar nominee “Selma,” the Sundance pic “Dope,” last year’s “The Purge: Anarchy” and “Short Term 12.”
He next appears in the biopic “Miles Ahead,” starring Don Cheadle as jazz genius Miles Davis.
