*Academy Award winner Mo’Nique kicks off Café Mocha Radio’s Women’s History Month’s “Life Lessons” series at her own request after hearing last weekend’s show that addressed whether she had been blackballed by Hollywood.
As reported, the “Precious” star told The Hollywood Reporter that “Empire” executive producer Lee Daniels told her she had been “blackballed” by the industry. Jawn Murray, host and editor of AlwaysAList.com, appeared on last week’s show and addressed the topic with Café Mocha’s co-hosts, Angelique Perrin and Loni Love.
Mo’Nique took issue with Jawn’s commentary and requested that she and her husband appear in their first joint interview on this week’s show alongside Murray. In a tense exchange, the parties debated whether the former star of “The Parkers” misplayed her hand or is a trailblazer before her time.
