Raven Symone Has Another ‘Moment’: A Geography Fail This Time

raven symone & alicia quarles

*It seems Raven Symone is having some geography problems again.

In a recent interview with E!, she found herself in almost the same foot in mouth situation as she was she told Oprah wasn’t African American. This time the conversation was with Alicia Quarles of E! about her now infamous comment to Oprah about not being an African American.

“I never said I was black, I said I wasn’t African-American,” Symone told Quarles. “To me that’s a difference. Thank you to Acestry.com for sending me my DNA testâ€Ĥ I am from every continent in Africa except for one. And I am from every continent in Europe except for one. For the last 400 years, my family has been living in Virginia. How long do you have to live in one country before you’re that?”

Now, we assume she meant to say “every COUNTRY in Africa” instead of every CONTINENT. But when you factor in all the “out there” things she’s said in the past, you really don’t know if was a mistake or that’s really the way her mind works.

On the positive side for her, it makes her … interesting and “different.” At least for now. But usually her mode of “different” thinking starts to rub folks the wrong way.

In any event, check out what she has to say:
