Rihanna Describes her Booth Anxiety While Voicing ‘Home’ Character

*You’d think a woman who has rocked stadiums worldwide would have no problem voicing an animated character. But the recording booth can be intimidating, according to Rihanna.

The singer voices a teen girl named Tip in DreamWorks Animation’s new film “Home.” The story follows an alien race “The Boov,” led by Captain Smek (Steve Martin) that invades Earth to hide from their galactic enemy. The Boov starts to relocate humans to a new Desert Planet, but Tip evades capture. While searching for her mom Lucy (Jennifer Lopez), she teams with a “fugitive” Boov named Oh (Jim Parsons), who inadvertently alerts his people’s enemies of their location.

It’s a project Rihanna has jumped into with both feet – contributing a song for the soundtrack (“Towards the Sun”) as well as planning an entire concept album based on the movie.

But that recording booth… apparently the one at DreamWorks is a lot more intimidating than her usual booth at the recording studio.
