Terrence Howard Lets His White Friends Use the ‘N-Word’ Around Him

terrence-howard*Terrence Howard’s passion for getting the producers of “Empire” to use the N-word on the hit show’s second season was troubling to many people, including his co-star Taraji P. Henson, who opposed the effort.

But a reason behind Howard’s determination is seemingly coming to light. In an interview with “Access Hollywood Live,” TheReelNetwork.net reports that Howard mentioned that his N-word motivation comes from “a desire to ‘break down’ these racial barriers that celebrities think can be destroyed simply by refraining from discussing racism”

Howard goes on to state how his efforts to use the N-word on “Empire” springs from him being comfortable with his white friends using the word when he’s around them.

Howard goes on to explain this, saying that when his friends use the N-word, it does not have any ill intention. On top of that, Howard referred to the N-word as just a noun or an adjective that describes a moment or a feeling. , As long as white people use it without -er on the end, Howard says they are good.

The revelation comes after Howard expressed why using the N-word is a necessary move to make for “Empire” during the same “Access Hollywood Live” interview.

“I believe, if we’re gonna really tackle racism, if we’re gonna tackle bigotry, if we’re gonna tackle homophobia—we need to tackle it dead on,” he said. “Are white people afraid of it? Did they create the word? But if this is something that we use on a daily basis, then let’s address what it really means.”

So what do you think? Does Howard’s confession sit well with you or are you on Team Taraji with disagreeing with him and his view of the N-word?
