*On Tuesday Apr. 14 hundreds of music fans lined up outside of the Ivar Theater in Los Angeles, CA for the taping of Season 1, Episode 2 of “Skee TV” on Fuse.
In addition to seeing DJ Skee, the fans lined up in excitement to see performances from Post Malone, Action Bronson an O.T. Genasis. EUR associate Kiki Ayers caught up with Skee before the show to talk about his deal with Fuse and what people can expect from the show.
He explained the Fuse deal was a result of the success Skee TV was having online, reaching over 1 billion views on YouTube.
“We’ve been talking to them for a long time and it just all came together perfectly,” he said.
Skee discussed starting “Skee TV” and “Dash Radio.” He said it started with him and a guy running around doing interviews and expanded to a full production team with multiple studios. Don’t be fooled by his success though, he definitely had challenges but works everyday to overcome them and push forward.
“We want to put together the best music show on TV,” he said. A show that really reflects our lifestyle, our culture, people that are under represented on TV that you can’t see.
O.T. Genasis was the first to hit the stage. He performed his new single “Ricky” that will be and heard for the first time on the show. He also got the crowd hype with his chart topping single “Coco.” Post Malone took the stage next performing his hit single “White Iverson.” For a new artist he had a favorable amount of fans in the crowd that knew all the lyrics to his songs. New York native Action Bronson performed hits “Crazy” and “Baby Blue” before jumping into the crowd when performing “Easy Rider.”
Skee TV airs on Fuse tonight and every Thursday night at 10:30/9:30c. For more information on DJ Skee visit his website at www.djskee.com or social media @DjSkee.
