The NFL announced Thursday that Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson will be reinstated effective Friday, at which point he will be able to fully participate in all team activities.

The athlete has been suspended from the league since Nov. 18. He pleaded no contest on Nov. 4 to misdemeanor reckless injury charges after injuring his son while disciplining him last May.

In a letter from commissioner Roger Goodell, Peterson was informed that he is expected to fulfill his remaining obligations to the authorities in Minnesota and Texas, as well as the additional commitments Peterson made during his April 7 meeting with the commissioner, including participating in counseling.
