*Contrary to reports that he was told to stay away by the family of Walter Scott, on Sunday (04-12-15), Reverend Al Sharpton is scheduled to be in North Charleston, South Carolina.
A press release from his office says Sharpton will address the Scott killing and call for national police legislation during Sunday services where he will preach at Charity Mission Baptist Church. He will also participate in a prayer vigil that was called by the National Action Network’s North Charleston chapter at the site where Walter Scott was shot and killed by bullets to the back as he ran unarmed from a now fired police officer.
