*Vanessa Bell Calloway is Janine Patterson whose faith is tested in the TV One new original movie, “To Hell and Back,” based on the Book of Job airing tonight (Saturday, April 4) at 8 P.M. ET.

“It’s a movie about faith. How much faith do you have? How much can you stand? Do you curse God? Instead of saying why me – do you say why not me,” Calloway asked.

Janine and her husband Joe (Ernie Hudson) have six wonderful children also a flourishing land development company until crisis after crisis strikes their home and business. In a moment of weakness Janine does what a lot of people do when faced with adversity – she self-medicates by excessive alcohol use.

“That’s part of her losing her faith. It’s kind of like the spiraling down effect,” the NAACP Theatre Award winner observed.

In her personal life the “What’s Love Got to Do with It” star is a six year breast cancer survivor declaring, “I’m doing great.”

Calloway continues her saucy role as Carol Fisher on the Showtime comedy-drama “Shameless” now in its fifth season. She calls it a “crazy show. It’s been fun to do.”

You can also catch her on the innovative web series she created “In the Company of Friends” (inthecompanyoffriends.tv) where she and her friends discuss a variety of topics.
