*In separate interviews on “Wendy Williams,” both KeKe Palmer and Cory Hardrict explained that when Palmer said she wanted to marry Cory at a press conference for their film “Brotherly Love,” she was recalling her thoughts when she first saw Cory auditioning for “Akeelah and the Bee” back in the day.
Video has now surfaced of Palmer making that comment, which set off Hardrict’s wife Tia Mowry and drove her to tweet: “Saying you like married men in interviews [is] not cute…Just saying…”
Palmer and Hardrict play siblings in the film “Brotherly Love.” At the press conference, Palmer was asked how it was working with Mowry’s husband.
She responded, “Well I’ve been a fan of Cory since I was a kid. He auditioned for ‘Akeelah & The Bee’ and I was like ‘I’m gonna marry this man’… So, I’ve known Cory for a really long time.”
The audience laughed, but apparently Mowry didn’t think it was funny. She tweeted her reaction, and then deleted it…but not before it went viral.
Palmer told Wendy that she wasn’t saying she wants to marry Hardrict now, she was reminiscing about her crush on him as a 10-year-old. The video appears to confirm this.
