Broadway Helps B. Smith Fight Alzheimer’s; Chris Brown ‘Stalker’ Charged

B-Smith*Tony Award-nominee Keith David, current “Les Miserables” star Megan Osterhaus and “Motown the Musical” star N’Kenge, will be among the Broadway stars and singers on hand to celebrate former model B. Smith while raising money to help those with Alzheimer’s disease.

The Associated Press reports the intimate event will be held today in Manhattan. Other celebrites attending the event include opera star John Davies and chef Marcus Samuelson.

Noted for being one of the first African-American models on the cover of Mademoiselle, B. Smith went on to become a famed restauranteur. Last year, the 65-year-old model/entrepreneur revealed that she has Alzheimer’s disease.

Tickets for the event are currently available for $425. Proceeds will go towards supporting the educational efforts of Positive Approach to Care, an organization dedicated to helping people cope with changing needs due to the effects of dementia.

Chris-Brown-and-Amira-Kodcia-AyebIn other news, the woman who authorities say broke into Chris Brown’s home and spent several days there before the singer returned has been charged.

On Friday (May 8), the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office told the AP that it filed felony burglary, stalking and vandalism charges against Amira Kodcia Ayeb.

Ayeb drew media attention after reports surfaced of Brown calling the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday (May 6) to report finding an intruder at his Los Angeles-area home in Agoura Hills.

In a news release, the district attorney’s office stated that prosecutors believe Ayeb broke in to Brown’s home May 2, and over the next four days vandalized the singer’s residence and cars.
