*Denzel Washington’s daughter is looking to make a name for herself in the family business.
Olivia Washington, one of Denzel’s four children, is making her off-Broadway debut later this spring as the shy and damaged Laura in a revival of Tennessee Williams’ “The Glass Menagerie.”
According to the AP, she joined the inaugural season of the 199-seat Masterworks Theater Company, which has found temporary housing in the 47th Street Theater, a short walk from The Great White Way.
The goal of the company is to present theatrical classics with diverse casts to young people. Its motto: igniting the next generation of audiences.
“It’s my first show as well as their first show so we’re definitely growing up together,” said Washington, who graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts two years ago. “Everything has kind of been ‘jump straight into and see what happens.’”
