*As part of his Discovery Channel miniseries “Idris Elba: No Limits,” the “Luther” star broke the “Flying Mile” U.K. land speed record that was last set in 1927 by Sir Malcolm Campbell, according to a press release from Bentley, which provided the car.

Elba got it done in Continental GT Speed, hitting a top speed of 180.361 mph. The existing record was 174.8 mph.

The record was broken while driving along the Pendine Sands beach in Wales despite “challenging tidal conditions,” says to the statement from Bentley.

Elba’s four-part series airs on Discovery in July.
