Jay and Bey Purchase Former Church Turned Mansion in New Orleans

Beyonce-Jay-Z*Jay Z and Beyoncé are expanding their home base with the addition of a new home in New Orleans.

According to XXL magazine, the power couple just purchased a renovated church for $2.6 million.

The couple, under the name of Sugarcane Park LLC, bought the 13,292 square-foot home, located in New Orleans’ Garden District. The mailing address for Sugarcane Park is the same as the one for Beyoncé’s management company.

Built in 1925, the residence originally housed a Presbyterian church before later becoming a ballet school. The massive master suite takes up three stories, which include seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms, XXL notes.

The purchase of the home puts Jay Z and Beyoncé in the same area as Bey’s younger sister Solange, who held her wedding in New Orleans last year and currently lives part-time there.

Prior to buying the New Orleans abode, the Carters were reportedly renting a home in the Holmby Hills neighborhood in western Los Angeles. for $150,000 a month. The rental resulted after the pair lost a bid for a mansion in Beverly Hills. The mansion, which was going for $85 million, ultimately went to 35-year-old Swedish video game programmer Markus Persson.

Despite losing out on the bid, BUYING a home in LA could still part of the plan for Jay and Bey.
