*Social media began buzzing Sunday afternoon about a supposed standoff between NeNe Leakes and Wendy Williams at the Atlanta Women’s Expo – but the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star said the drama actually had to do with Wendy’s husband Kevin Hunter.
According to the Expo’s website, Wendy Williams gave her speech at 1 p.m., followed immediately by NeNe’s keynote address at 1:30.
As NeNe was making her way from the Georgia World Congress Center to New York for her 9 p.m. live episode of Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live,” rumors of a verbal showdown between NeNe and Wendy’s team had begun circulating.
Well…NeNe set the record straight on “WWHL,” saying she never saw Wendy or Kevin at the Expo, but it was Kevin who was causing all the fuss.
Aa lot happened backstage with her husband, I heard,” NeNe told host Andy Cohen. “Just because I was onstage he went completely crazy.”

Earlier Sunday, Leakes mentioned the hubbub in a tweet: “So SHOCKED to hear everything that was happening backstage.” She said, “Everything” happened “while I was onstage speaking @ the women’s expo! WOW the professionalism.”
The blog Lalate said fans took Leakes’ “professionalism” as shade toward Williams.
The blog also cited a tweet to NeNe that stated: “Wendy Williams apparently left the ATL women’s expo early after u threw shade at her during her speech. Did you know this?”
Williams has yet to comment about any of it.
