Forbes says its rankings, released Tuesday, are based on “money, media momentum, spheres of influence and impact.”
Oprah is this year’s “top ranking billionaire,” with a net worth of $3 billion.
Daytime host Ellen DeGeneres (#50) and “Modern Family” actress Sofía Vergara (#57) represented television stars. Among the “celebrity role models” singled out for their humanitarian efforts is Angelina Jolie at #54 and Shakira at #81.
At 25 years old, Taylor Swift is the youngest member of the list at #64.
Topping Forbes’ entire list is German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Former secretary of state and current Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton came in at #2. Melinda Gates, Janet Yellen, Mary Barra, Christine Lagarde, Dilma Rousseff, Sheryl Sandberg, Susan Wojcicki and Michelle Obama round out the top ten.
